Well, the first one is awful... these are two kinds of music that doesnt match, it shall sound weird, kinda racist, but rap like that is music for afroamericans, they only see on their own business, and they only worry for themselves, talking about material things, in contrast with Keane, that is more like piano rock pop, and talks about feelings and more metaphysical things, and one of their emblematic songs Somewhere Only We Know cant be matched with a song like that. The second one is kind of the same, but it isnt that bad... The third one its the most acceptable, but its kinda odd I'd like to hear a mashup of Zombie of Cranberries and a song of Keane Thnx for reading

i like the kelis one because the one of the biggest objectives of the mash up as a concept is to throw contrasting genres, musics, artists together in a playful musical battle to create something that's totally crazy, ironic and out of the box (britpop/hiphop, melancholy/debauchery, good boys/bad girls). but yeah iny has a point b/c km.com might have some underage site visitors - those darn hip-hop whippersnappers (i kid, i kid) lol! btw, km.com, how about a vox pop lyrical mash-up contest where we send in a written verse for tim to piece together for a new song? that might be too much work for dude post tour but it's an idea. okay, i'm out for real! always, lord byron

Trying to explain why you like a style of music and not another is not simple .Perhaps because the appreciation of music is a unique and personal experience, different for each person and influenced by many factors, but more important is that music makes you “feel something” in a particular way .So music should not be explained. I feel the same about Keane’s music. Why would I mix it with other voices and musical styles whether it is perfect as is? Well, frankly speaking, I'm not really about the mashup thing though I have to admit I pretty enjoyed listening to the second one (I pretty like Janet Jackson too and the two different musics are getting quite well together I have to say). The third one is not bad but I feel like "Bend And Break" is really too much reduced in it, you can only hear "Meet me in the morning when you wake up" !!!!! Whereas this song's lyrics are so enjoyable !!!! I totally aggree with lord Byron the girl, the best keane mash ups are the ones done by the boys themselves. The major difference being that they are actually listenable and involve some skill putting together, rather than adding the lyrics of one song on top of the music of another.

yeah, pugzmom i agree b/c i like keane originals untainted too. however, this is a great question b/c this is actually how i discovered keane! i have a soft spot for electronica b/c i'm a dj so out of the three i must go with the chicane one too. hey...i was just asking about this chicane track on the forum! (hmmm..) other than the ones above, i actually heard that sick mash up of david bowie 'let's dance' and 'spiraling' from youtube that i really like too and that folks have mentioned below. but i LOVE it when keane does the live mash ups. not too many bands can pull that off without tweaking with technology and massive studio edits so mad props to keane on this. i think 'dirtylicsious' is a rare for keane since i think they are such polite gents you get to imagine the mischievous side of them. but then again another 'one bites the dizzee' is pretty ill too and i like that one b/c i love queen. maybe in the future when the boys get some rest and relaxation and after the mini-ep and a possible return to the old school keane piano centered vibe, they can do a live 'funky cold medina' vs 'honkey tonk woman' vs 'better than this' mash up. they can even invite tone loc and mick jagger! km.com must be trying slowly trying to acclimate fans to get ready for the stuff w/ keane, kanye and k'naan. i'm just sayin'... ;) always and forever, lord byron the girl

I like to say something .... good that I like most about the three ... is the last (Keane vs Chicane: Wake Up (this was an official release, but it still sort of counts) only by the fact that the pace of the song is .. I would choose the second one. The third is also good but it's kind of repetitive and it becomes boring after a few minutes..(I don't think Keane music is good to remix).
