Yesterday, I bought it, it´s special, I think everything in Keane es special. Thank you Keane for your songs.
I was so excited to hear this album and though the songs are great...it sounds like listening to a rainy day with the sun peeking through the clouds once or twice. It sounds like the soundtrack to a sad movie about 30-somethings. I really wanted to hear a few rockin' songs. Oh well, I will have to let this one grow on me. I can certainly appreciate Keane not wanting to put out the same album twice but I think the evolution is happening too quickly. Seems like Keane has changed so much in 8 or 9 years. It takes most bands 20 years to do what Keane is doing. Maybe I'm a stick in the mud but I am only a year older than Tom. I also think this album sounds like it has too much Paul McCartney influence. I like Paul but he does his own music best.
Fantastic album, love 'Run with Me' and 'You Are Young', keep up the good work guys.
The 360 session was really worth a watch - I wondered if Keane were ever going to play at the Abbey ruins? Apparently the monks had secret tunnels to get out to the town to meet their girlfriends (saw that on escape to the country - so it must be true!)
I have been listening to the album for the past days to get a real feeling of it. I love the fact that you kept your style, but also that your sound has evolved in a more refined and mature way. I love the arrangements and the lyrics are inspiring and uplifting (as usual). I love the bittersweetness of Watch how you go. When I listen to Sovereign Light Cafe, the nostalgic lyrics makes me want to go back in time and go to an old Café in my hometown and meet my highschool friends. I get goose bumps whenever I hear the beautifully penned lyrics The Starting Line, and In your own time since I have been in these situations in the past.. @Annette- I sorry I wish you happy everyday I feel my life is not rich, so maybe keane album I can't afford the will. This is my first time to buy, also is the last time I buy. Izsb - I think you misunderstood me as you defintely said that you were buying the album - I was saying that I think that it is terrible if you can already buy illegal copies. And it is terrible that this happens to artists who work hard and are majorly talented. I once read that a singer/songwritter asked his taxi driver if he ever illegally downloaded music and the taxi driver replied about 25% of the time. So when this singer got out of the taxi he only paid the driver 75% of the fare. hope you understand my comments.

Izsb - If you like somebody and (you are on the Keane website - so you must like them) then paying for their work is worth it I know that lots of people have very little money these days. But, Artists depend on people paying them for their art (it is art and it belongs to them). I have seen KEane live and they give 100% and aren't greedy with their concert ticket prices. Also I won tickets to one of their question and answer sessions and they are genuinely beautiful, on the inside too, people.
I agree about Amazon...had an email on 5th saying it had been dispatched but no CD in the post today. The waiting is awful. Please don't release albums on bank holidays!
To Keane fans - the radio 5 live interview (that was on yesterday) with Jesse and Richard was short but, really sweet! So check it out! Can Keane not put out new albums on bank holiday next time! So Amazon are having a laugh. They emailed me on Sat 5th to tease me with - Strangeland has been dispatched. Tho at work, I did a little victory dance. Then agonised through Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday with no post. Now re-read Amazon's teasing email and I see their estimated delivery is 10th May! Aaaaaaarrrggh! I just want to say what a beautiful item this is, and Keane you really have surpassed yourselves with this album, what a beautiful, awesome album. Favourite song up to now is 'The Starting Line', but every song is beautiful!! What a talented bunch Keane are!! So happy the wait is finally over; however, due to today being a bank holiday I'm gonna have to wait a few more days before my copy of Strangeland arrives, but I'm really happy anyway!!
It was so much worth waiting for! Brilliant album - every track is a masterpiece. Additional songs in the Deluxe edition are also great. They should even have been included in the album, I think. My personal favorites are Sea fog, On the road, You are young, Neon river, Day will come, Silenced by the night, Sovereign light cafe, Disconnected, The boys, It's not true. Ha ha! It's the whole album! :) Great work, Keane! Look forward to seeing you back in Moscow, again. And by the way thanks for adding the option of downloading Strangeland for those who ordered the CD. I bet my hard copy will arrive only in 2-3 weeks. *Gone to listen to the album* :)
