**NEW LIVE BLOG FROM AMSTERDAM COMING ON 16 OCTOBER 2012**
21:51: And that's it from us. Enormous thanks, as ever, to all of you, from all over the world, for keeping us company over the last six and a bit hours, with all your comments and emails (and view-from-your-window photos!). As the band always say, they really do have some pretty incredible fans. We'll leave you with this shot taken at the end of the show. And we'll see you for another live blog soon.
21:49: For those of you who've asked, here's tonight's setlist...
21:45: Just popped in to see the band, who are pretty tired after that, but very pleased with the response.
21:42: The gig finished a few minutes ago now - and the fellas are back in the dressing room - but you can still hear the crowd bellowing Bedshaped out front. What a night.
21:39: Here's some photos taken during a raucous Crystal Ball, tonight's final song. Before it, Tom thanked the crowd repeatedly for making it such an amazing show tonight. It was pretty clear how much he meant it.
21.27: Amazing response to Sovereign Light Café. But then, what a tune.
21.26: The first song of the encore is Sea Fog, which Richard sits out (in fact, he was kind enough to take our lens cap off so that we could take this photo!)
21:19: This was at the start of Is It Any Wonder?, the final song of the main set.
21:17: A neon light during Neon River. (Beth was right, it sounded superb.)
21:10: Keane's lovely PA Beth tells us that we should definitely watch Neon River, which is next (after Bedshaped). So we're off to do just that...
21:08: Here's a few more from during Perfect Symmetry.
21:03: These next few are from during Perfect Symmetry (which, if pushed, km.com would probably say is its favourite Keane song).
20:53: The front row. As you'll notice, they're quite animated.
20:51: A couple of pics from up on the balcony...
20:48: It really is incredible to see the crowd singing along with every single new song like it's an old favourite (the latest being Disconnected).
20:39: Meanwhile, in Santiago (thanks for the emailing the pic of your view Geraldine)
20:38: This is how it looked from stage right at the end of Spiralling.
It's getting pretty hot in there!
20:34: Spiralling now. Thanks to everyone still sending your pictures of your views in! We've had way more than we thought we'd get.
20:31: Massive response to Silenced By The Night. File it under "new live favourite".
20:26: From where we are, we can hear the audience bellowing along to Bend And Break. Sounds amazing. Here's some more photos...
20:22: As Tom just told the crowd, tonight's Birmingham show was the very first of this sold out tour to sell out. The audience certainly seems suitably up for a good time (and they're singing along to every word of the new songs).
20:11: Here's some shots from the first song...
20:09: And they're on. The show began with a rapturously-received You Are Young, which led into a barrelling Day Will Come. Here's the band's pre-show huddle. Live pics coming in a sec...
19:58: Two minutes to go! We'll see you once they're on.....
19:55: Tim's turned up for a warm-up too. Five minutes until stage time...
19:50: Another warm-up shot. They're onto Disconnected now. And Tom's just arrived to add some singing.
19:44: Sixteen minutes until they head to that top right one...
19.41: Jesse and Rich have now joined us in the warm-up room, where they're playing through Bend And Break. It's actually really nice to hear how it sounds with just the rhythm section. And it sounds jolly good.
19:30: Thirty minutes until stage time and there's a setlist meeting going on in the dressing room...
19:25: See if you can guess where this window view was taken. Answer below the photo...
It's Buenos Aires, Argentina. Very leafy! And it's Camila's view.
19:22: Here's the view from the window of Begga in Iceland. Richard just popped in as we were downloading the pic. He says he has fond memories of playing at Airwaves in Iceland many moons ago...
19:16: As promised, here's some photos of tonight's excellent support act, Zulu Winter...
19:03: The view from the balcony just now. Zulu Winter have just come on, so we'll go and grab some photos of them...
18:55: More disappointingly, the wifi in the venue doesn't let you visit YouTube. Which has rather scuppered the idea of uploading any short videos tonight.
18:53: We can officially confirm that Richard's practice drumkit (which is behind where we're typing) is working well. Bum-bum-tish!
18:49: Emails still coming in thick and fast to ontour@keanemusic.com. It looks nice outside Mia from Portland, Oregon's window...
18:47: Back inside the venue, it's already looking busy down the front...
18:43: Doors are open and folks are coming in...
18.30: Just 90 minutes until Keane's showtime.
18:28: Lots of you have been emailing about what commentators are calling "Shoegate" (where the heel came off Tom's shoe at the first show of this tour, in Newcastle). Happily, he's pleased to report that the shoes have already been re-heeled. And here they are...
18:23: You may be asking yourself: "I wonder what Jesse is doing right now?" Well, he's in the dressing room, gazing intently at his laptop.
18:16: The view from luckyardilla's window just now in Bolivia. Bolivia! Isn't the internet amazing?
And here's Liouba's view in Moscow...
18.09: During this tour, the Keane Shop will be selling a very limited edition tour screen print for each night of the tour (limited to ten per show). They're available buy/order now in the shop, from the following links (for UK and N.America you can choose your particular show from the drop down menu at the link)
- UK tour
- N. America tour
- Paris show
Here's what the Brixton Academy print looks like...
Pretty great, no?
18:03: Apologies for the gap in service. There was a bit of a rush on at catering. But we wolfed down our *delicious* fish curry as quickly as we could...
18.00: Two hours until show time!
17:32: The photos of the views from your windows are still flooding in. Here's a couple to keep you going while we go and grab some dinner...
Sherry W in Michigan
Maria in Peru...
LUCIANABRAZIL in Queens NYC
And Fredrik in Stockholm..
Right. Food time. Back soon, please talk amongst yourself in the comments until then...
17.30: Update on what the band are upto. Tom is back watching cricket in the dressing room (England need to get a wicket). Richard is also in the dressing room. Jesse is on the phone. And Tim is having dinner with some family, who are up for today's show. Talking of dinner, here's tonight's menu in Catering...
Very much liking the sound of the fish curry...
17:23: Here's how the front of the venue looked a little earlier...
17:18: The view from Patrizia's window in the Philippines...
And from Martyna's in Poland
17:16: Ross has just emailed asking to see some pictures of the merch stall. And so here they are...
Look out for all these items in the Keane Shop in the next few weeks.
17:10: Couple more Keane fan window views! Maria in Finland..
Joy's office overlooks Tulsa International Airport...
And Monica is looking at the cloudy Sao Paulo sky...
17.08: Meanwhile, the soundcheck is now over. Here's Richard in the dressing room making himself a coffee.
17.04: OK, here's a last batch of Keane fan window views (thanks to everyone for sending them!)
Mila in Chile
Katie in Skaneateles, NY
Elliot, Isle of Man
16:59: And this is the current view from Simoninha's window in Brazil...
16:57: Paula can see the Dragon Stadium in Porto from her window. Which must be nice.
16:55: Here's the view from Chi's window in Taiwan (where it's almost midnight)
16:52: A Tom's eye view of tonight's venue.
16:51: The venue's poster...
16:46: Blimey, you look away for a couple of minutes and about 50 emails arrive at ontour@keanemusic.com. Thanks everyone. Feel like we should set you a photo challenge. What can you see from the door/window where you are? Email 'em in...
16:41: It's definitely not dark outside, mind. Here's a photo of what you see from the doors of the venue (which sits right on a pretty major road).
16:39: It's quite dark on stage for the soundcheck. Makes it quite tricky to take live photos.
16:37: Here's Richard, Tim and Jesse running through Atlantic while Tom takes a rare chance to watch Keane play live (he seemed to be enjoying it).
16:22: As promised, here are some photos from the soundcheck (where they're currently playing Neon River).
16:10: Ooh, soundcheck has just begun (with Silenced By The Night). Best go and take some pics...
16:08: This email has come from rather closer to where we are - the queue outside tonight's venue! "Essential provisions for any queue.... Welcome to our world" say Charlotte, Anna and Nicky, who do indeed seem to have things pretty much sorted.
16:03: Lali tells us to ontour@keanemusic.com that it's "awfully grey in Buenos Aires" today. Can't be too often that it's nicer weather in Birmingham than Argentina. It's BAKING here.
16:02: Here are tonight's stage times (it's an early one, as there's a club night at the O2 Academy on a Friday). Do check out Zulu Winter's website btw.
15:56: Just popped into the dressing room, where cricket fan Tom is watching England's match against the West Indies on his laptop and wishing he was in Nottingham to watch it live (what a glorious day for cricket).
15:55: Hello also to Paula in Portugal, Katie from New York, Lali in Buenos Aires and Su in Sao Paulo, who've all emailed ontour@keanemusic.com.
15:54: This photo taken outside tonight's venue just now gives a pretty good weather report for how it is in Birmingham today...
15:44: And the very first email to arrive to ontour@keanemusic.com is from Trang in Vietnam. Hello Trang!
15:42: This is our office for the day. Weirdly, somebody seems to have left some instruments in here. It's almost as if someone will be warming up in here later.
15:40: As ever, if you'd like to keep us company throughout this live blog, you can get in touch via the comments below and through ontour@keanemusic.com. First person to email gets a "hello"...
15;38: km.com in da house! A very warm welcome to our lastest live blog.
Thursday: We're very pleased to announce that we're heading to Birmingham with the band tomorrow, for another of our live, behind-the-scenes blogs. Join us from tomorrow afternoon for all the usual backstage photos, videos, news and insight. (And if you've not seen our live blogs before, this Bexhill one should give you an idea of what to expect.)
