Live Eight
01 June 2005
We're really pleased to be taking part in Live Eight. We fully support the campaign to Make Poverty History, and this is a great opportunity to show the politicians who represent the British people how much support the campaign has. It's a chance for this generation to make a difference to the lives of millions of people who have been let down in the twenty years since Live Aid, and who are dealing with an ever-worsening situation in the face of continuing poverty and an HIV epidemic. Although it will undoubtedly be an enjoyable day, the concert is happening to remind people about the G8 conference later that week. This is a chance to force politicians to take action - they have to realise that we want them to do more, so they have no choice but to drop the debt, double the aid, and make trade laws more fair.
